Stronger Than Ever: Why I Added Bucked Up to My Fitness Journey

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know I’ve been on a mission.

Not a “lose five pounds before vacation” mission.

A completely transform my body, my health, and my mindset mission.

My goal is to lose 50 pounds, and in the first nine weeks, I dropped 20 pounds. Then something happened that anyone who’s ever tried to lose weight knows all too well—I hit a plateau.

The scale slowed down.

My energy started fluctuating.

The excitement of seeing weekly progress wasn’t quite as motivating as it was in the beginning.

So I started looking for ways to level up my training.

That’s when I discovered Bucked Up.

Now, before anyone thinks supplements are some magical shortcut, let me be clear: the real work still happens in the gym, on the trails, and in the kitchen. But having the right fuel can make a huge difference when you’re pushing yourself day after day.

I’m currently in Week 11 of training, and I honestly feel more powerful than ever.

My cardio has increased from 5 miles a day to 10 miles a day—usually broken into two 5-mile sessions—and I’m lifting heavier than I have in years. The workouts feel stronger. My focus feels sharper. And when it’s time to put in the work, I’m ready.

What’s funny is that this isn’t my first fitness transformation.

In my 20s, I lost over 100 pounds and stepped on stage as a fitness competitor. I earned second place at Provincials and eighth place at Nationals. Years later, in my late 30s, I lost another 100 pounds and was preparing to compete again—until COVID canceled every show I had planned.

Now I’m in my 40s.

And honestly?

I feel stronger than I ever have.

Do I still think about competing again? Absolutely.

But lately, another idea has been creeping into my head.

The thought of filing down my long manicure nails, wrapping my hands, and stepping into a boxing ring sounds surprisingly exciting.

I feel strong.

I feel powerful.

I feel capable.

I feel like I can do anything I set my mind to.

Whether that’s another fitness competition, a boxing match, or simply becoming the healthiest version of myself, I’m here for the journey.
