Samantha Mack Volunteers with Local Hearts Foundation to Provide Groceries for Long Beach Families

LONG BEACH, CA — September 2025 — Actress and community advocate Samantha Mack rolled up her sleeves this week to volunteer with the Local Hearts Foundation, delivering groceries to families in need across the Long Beach area.

Mack was joined by two of her fellow volunteers from Snoop Dogg’s charity team, demonstrating the power of collaboration when it comes to giving back. Together with Local Hearts Foundation — led by community leader Tito “The Hood Santa” Rodriguez — the team worked quickly to distribute food and essential supplies at one of the organization’s signature pop-up grocery giveaways.

“These events move fast,” Mack explained. “Word gets around the neighborhood and within minutes, the line stretches down the block. We plan to be out here for a couple of hours, but often we’re packed up in less than an hour because everything is gone. Nobody goes home empty-handed — every single item finds a home.”

At this week’s event, the team distributed groceries in under 40 minutes. Thanks to donations from local partners, everything from refrigerated goods and beverages to fresh produce was provided — along with pop-up tents and tables that made the community effort possible. Volunteers worked together to keep food moving quickly, cold drinks refreshed, and refrigerated items safely into the hands of families.

“It’s all about giving back,” Mack said. “These pop-ups are proof that many hands really do make light work.”

The Local Hearts Foundation has become a cornerstone of giving in Long Beach, holding spontaneous food distribution events throughout the month. As volunteer Jeff, a regular at the events, puts it: “It takes us, to save us.”
